Countertrade Pte Ltd is looking for a Trade Agreement Consultant, a key role responsible for advising on the negotiation, drafting, and finalization of trade agreements within the countertrade framework. This position demands an individual with extensive experience in international trade law, negotiation strategies, and an in-depth understanding of the complexities of countertrade operations. Collaborating closely with the Legal Framework Advisor, Deal Structuring Advisor, and Financial Structuring Analyst, the Trade Agreement Consultant will ensure that all countertrade agreements are strategically sound, legally compliant, and optimized for mutual benefit.
- Provide expert consultation on the negotiation strategies for countertrade agreements, ensuring alignment with Countertrade Pte Ltd’s strategic objectives and compliance with international trade regulations.
- Assist in drafting trade agreements, working closely with the Legal Framework Advisor to incorporate necessary legal provisions, terms, and conditions that safeguard Countertrade Pte Ltd’s interests.
- Conduct risk assessments and due diligence on proposed trade agreements, identifying potential legal, financial, and operational risks, and advising on mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate the training of Countertrade Pte Ltd’s negotiation teams, equipping them with the knowledge and skills required for effective trade agreement negotiations.
- Stay updated on changes in international trade laws and practices, advising Countertrade Pte Ltd on the implications for countertrade agreement structures and negotiation tactics.
- Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Laws (LLM) in International Trade Law, or equivalent legal qualification, with a strong focus on international trade agreements and negotiations.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in legal consultancy, trade agreement negotiation, or a closely related role, with substantial exposure to international trade and countertrade operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in drafting, negotiating, and advising on complex trade agreements, with a proven track record of achieving favorable outcomes in international trade negotiations.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex legal and strategic challenges in trade agreement consultations.
- Deep understanding of international trade regulations, compliance requirements, and the legal aspects of countertrade operations.
Monthly Salary: $10,500, translating to an annual salary of $126,000.
