Position Summary

Countertrade Pte Ltd seeks a seasoned Government Affairs Director to lead our engagement with government entities, legislative bodies, and regulatory agencies. This pivotal role involves developing and implementing strategies to advocate the company’s interests, managing government relations, and ensuring compliance with governmental policies and regulations that impact our international trade operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and execute government relations strategies to support the company’s objectives and protect its interests.
  2. Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, legislative bodies, and regulatory agencies.
  3. Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that could impact the company, and advise senior management on appropriate actions.
  4. Represent the company in meetings with government entities and at public hearings.
  5. Collaborate with industry associations and coalitions to advocate for favorable policies and regulations.
  6. Lead the preparation of submissions to government consultations and responses to proposed regulatory changes.
  7. Provide strategic advice and guidance to the company on political and regulatory risks.
Qualifications 
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Law, or related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  2. Minimum of 7 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or a similar role, with a proven track record of successful advocacy.
  3. In-depth knowledge of government processes, legislative procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
  4. Strong network within government and regulatory bodies.
  5. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Compensation
  • Monthly Salary: A competitive package starting at $10,500, commensurate with the candidate’s experience and the strategic nature of the role.
  • Annual Salary: Starting from $126,000, along with opportunities for performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement savings plan, and generous vacation allowances.
